FREAKSHOW
DIRECTOR/EDITOR

Garrison served as Director and Producer of the digital concept, strategy, content, and visuals for amc.com surrounding the premiere season of AMC’s Freakshow. She directed and produced a series of character-driven videos filmed in Los Angeles, designed to introduce AMC audiences to the show’s ten main characters ahead of the series debut.
Because the characters are framed as “freaks,” the creative approach centered on challenging the idea of what is considered “normal.” Drawing inspiration from Annie Leibovitz’s portraiture, Garrison chose to film each subject simply and directly, allowing their personalities and their acts to speak for themselves. Rather than displaying their acts on camera, the videos are intentionally held back, inviting viewers to imagine the performances through the characters’ own descriptions.
The initial ten videos received exclusive digital placement across major platforms during the five days leading up to their release on amctv.com. Together, they generated millions of views on sites including IMDb’s main page, The Huffington Post, The Today Show, USA Today, Yahoo, Hollywood.com, and Inside TV. They were accompanied by a “What Is Freakshow” companion piece, offering a deeper introduction to the series and featured alongside Episode 2 on amc.com.
